Who Wrote The Book Of Love?
I don’t know who wrote the book of love but The Monotones sure sang it.
Febuary 14th is Valentines Day. To celebrate this day ( Month) of love I have decided to give away some blog candy.
That’s right, I am giving away 1 Tie The Knot Cricut Cartridge. I had a hard time deciding between the Tie The Knot cricut cartridge and the Love Struck cricut cartridge. I decided the Tie the Knot cricut cartridge would be more versatile to use through out the year then Love Struck cricut cartridge. I do love both cartridges though!
I wanted to post a few files at the same time as the blog candy was announced but I just have not had the time to finish them this week. As soon as I do I will post them for you! I think that you are going to love the file so check back later.
To enter the blog candy give away please leave a comment on the this blog post. I will choose a winner next Tuesday February 9th. Only 1 comment per person please.
Square Picture Box SVG
Hi Everyone,
This is the file that I have been working on for a while. I finally got it finished this morning so I thought that I would get it posted. I made it for my niece. A few weeks ago she came for a visit and unfortunately at the same time my house was hit with a bug and we all pretty much were sick except my daughter. My niece was such a big help taking care of all of us. Unfortunately after 4 days when she went home, she ended up getting sick herself. I felt so bad. I am sending her a box of goodies, I got her the new FAME DVD, a box of Sweethearts candies with a picture of Jacob (her favorite) from New Moon on them and this photo box. I think that she is going to love it!
My nieces favorite color is purple, thus the purple box. I ran the ribbon through the Xyron small sticker machine and it adhered wonderfully to the box. The score guide is included in the the zip file. You really have to use a thick cardstock and also use a good adhesive like terrifically tacky tape or your box will fall apart.
Short Top Box SVG for Sure Cuts A Lot
Here is a simple little box that I made to cut on my cricut. It is sized 5 inches by 5 inches and about 2 1/2 inches deep. I can never have enough boxes. I am mailing some DVD’s to my niece that I made and this will be perfect since I am not sending them in jewel cases. I included the svg file, scut file and the score and glue guide.
New Michaels 40% Off Coupon
Here is the latest Michaels 40% off coupon. It expires on February 6th. This will come in handy for some Valentine’s Day projects that I am working on. I have been working on a few new svg’s. A photo cube svg that turned out awesome. As soon as I finish embellishing it I will take pictures of it and post the file. There will be a few other Valentine’s goodies and a blog candy posted soon so check back later this weekend.
New Cartridges Arrived! Cricut Cartridges On Sale!
The other day I posted about the sale that they were having at Papercraftingpro.com on cricut cartridges. No cricut cartridge was over $29.00. The cartridges that my friend and I ordered came today! We ordered the Sports Mania cricut cartridge as well but have not received it yet since it is on back order. I got another e-mail today that they are having another sale. I logged on to check out the prices. They are a bit better then the other day. The licensed cartridges are still $29.00 but all other cricut cartridges are $25.00 or less. You can see my earlier post about papercraftingpro.com here.
Valentine’s Day Card
I made a Valentine’s Day card for my sister today with my cricut. I used a svg cut file from a very talented designer Paulo. You can visit his site here to see for yourself.
Paulo’s cut file that I used is called the Valentines Photo Frame Element. You can download it from his blog here.
I used Valentines card stock from Recollections that I picked up at Michaels. The design is three pieces. The larger red base. The cream colored heart and then the top heart. I attached the pictures of my kids to the inside of the red heart and then glued it to the cream colored heart. Then I attached it to the base heart using an metallic red eyelet and strung ribbon through it so she could hang it. The top heart slides to the left or right to reveal the message written on the heart.
In the past I have had a very difficult time trying write something on the dark card stock that would turn out nice. I was at Archivers the other day checking out when I saw this white Uni-Ball Signo Broad gel pen. I remembered someone mentioning that this was a good white gel pen on the Yahoo messages boards. I recalled that they even shared a link on where to buy them at a good price but I could not find the e-mail. I did a google search and found the site. (if you are the original person who shared this on the yahoo message board, please let me know so I can give you proper credit) The website is trendyrightnow.com. Click here for the link for the gel pens. They are $2.99 with free shipping. You can also get a set of the white, silver and gold gel pens for $8.25. Free Shipping!
Although the message I am writing in this card is private, I wanted you to see how the white gel pen writes on red metallic card stock. It is amazing. It is crisp, clear and shows up so well. It does not skip or give you uneven lines like so many other white gel pens I have tried in the past. I love this gel pen!!!!!!
