My Son’s Birthday Card Made With Plantin Schoolbooks Cricut Cartridge
I wanted to make a birthday card for my son so I made this. I was going to use some toys from the new arrival cricut cartridge for the center of the circles but I decided to use foam dimensional stickers from Jolee instead. It is an a2 size card made from the plantin schoolbooks cricut cartridges.
I think the close up of the card was to close so I am uploading another picture.
I thought that I would upload the cut file if anyone would like it. I made 2 versions. One for plantin schoolbooks and the other using only the george cartridge. Both are included in the same zip file. Score the card at 4.25 inches.
I think that this card can be used for a lot of different things. I have some cute Jolee dimensional baby stickers that would be awesome as well. The little booties and stuff fit perfectly inside the center of the circles.
I Used My Cricut To Make My Own Embossing Folders
The other day when I tried the cricut cuttables I thought that there must be a cheaper and easier way to make embossing folders. I did it! I used 3m transparency paper, cricut new arrival cartridge, 1 piece of chipboard, Design Studio, brayer (optional) and Beacon’s 3 in 1 Advanced Craft glue.
I created this pattern in Design Studio and then cut it with chipboard on 4x multi cut. (I created a rectangle 4 1/2 by 5 1/2 to match an A2 card and then fit the flowers inside and deleted the rectangle before cutting). I cut the transparency paper a little larger.. sorry I forgot to measure it.
I used the Beacon’s 3 in 1 Advanced Craft Glue and glued the outside (negative) of the design to the 3m Transparency paper. I then rolled the brayer over it to make sure that the glue dried as flat as possible.
After the outside part was dry, like a puzzle I placed each flower back in to the negative. I dabbed some glue on each flower piece. I closed my embossing folder and then ran the brayer over it.
This is what I ended up with after everything dried. The flowers glued to one side of the transparency paper and the negative of the cut glued to the other side.
This is the final result. I embossed this with my Sizzix Big Kick. I made my sandwich on the texturz setting on the multi purpose platform. I first put down the first cutting pad, then the texturz rubber mat, the embossing folder with the paper inside, then the 2nd cutting pad and then a piece of foam on top. It went right through my Big Kick. I think that that embossed design turned out great. I am sure you can use this same method on other machines like the cuttlebug.
Rubber Duck Card Made With New Arrival Cricut Cartridge
I made this rubber duck card with the New Arrival cricut cartridge using the weld feature in Design Studio. I wanted a cute little thank you card to send out for my daughters birthday. I think that this would be perfect for a baby shower or baby’s birthday invitation as well. I am going to write personal messages inside the card like, “Thanks For Helping Making This A Ducky Special Day.” My family and friends will get a kick out of it. Rather then worry about making my own envelopes I just picked up some half fold card envelopes that are 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches. It was just a little large for this card but works fine.
I found this video on YouTube and I love making the little bow this way. It worked perfect for this kind of card.
