I wanted to do something with one of my new cartridges so I decided to work with Simply Sweet. I love butterflies so here is what I came up.  I created a square, a butterfly in a square and the butterfly and cut them out and assembled the.  I just ran the pieces through the xyron machine backwards to put glitter on them.  I have to say that it looks nicer in person that in the picture. The butterfly is foam mounted so it is raised off the paper.  I am going to use if for the front of a square card.  A just because card.  I was thinking that I should have embossed the purple background to give it texture.  I have the swiss dots one and I think that it would have made it look very nice.

I have exciting news!  The new cartridges are finally added to Design Studio.  I installed the latest font pack here.  You have to log in and download the update.  I did not download the program update.  I will do that later, I just updated the font pack so I can see what they are all about.  It includes the following cartridges.

**** I know that some people who use SCAL (Sure Cut’s Alot) are afraid (rightly so, we don’t want to loose SCAL)  that updating the Design Studio software will block SCAL as it has in the past.  The font pack update that I completed did not do anything to block SCAL on my cricut expression.

Thes are the new cricut cartridges that are going to be released at the end of June.

I received an e-mail from www.ohmycrafts.com.  They are having a Memorial day sale.  The new cartridges can be pre ordered for $45.99.  They also have a 15% off discount coupon that can be used.  It is HERO15.  Usually the coupon codes are only valid with a minimum purchase but this code has no minimum purchase required.  That brings it to $39.10 for a cartridge plus shipping.  If you are planning on getting all four of these cartridges they are offering a bundle of  all 4 for $165.00.  You can use the 15% coupon on that and get all 4 for $140.25 plus shipping.  I entered my zip code and after discounts it came to $151.14 for all four cartridges and that includes shipping priority mail.  That is $37.79 per cartridge.  That is a pretty good deal.
