I kept telling my husband all day that I wanted to make a snowman.  At first he thought that I was a little nuts but after I said with my cricut he just laughed.  The snowman that are on this cricut cartridge are so cute.  I have ordered stamps from Peachy Keen before for the paper dolls cartridge but when they came out with the Christmas Character Faces stamps I could not wait to get them.  I finally got around to ordering them and received them the other day.  Here is my very first Snow Friends cricut cartridge cut.

I cut the snowman out on white metallic paper.  I think that was a mistake.  The stamped face was not as clear as it could have been.  The Prismacolor colored pencils really did not show that well on it when I colored the mouth and nose.  Also, I chalked the cheeks to make them a little pink and the chalk could not really set into the paper very well.  Next I am going to try just plain white card stock and see how that goes.  I still think that this little guy turned out cute.  I love the Peachy Keen stamps.  I can’t wait to make Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause!

I have Christmas cards on my mind.  I definitely want to make my own with my cricut expression.  I have been picking up card making supplies here and there as I go so now I am just trying to come up with some ideas and actually find the time to make them.  I want to go nice but simple.  I liked the idea of having a snow flake card that I could maybe put a snowman on from the Snow Friends cricut cartridge on.  I am not sure if I will go with this idea or not but here is the card if you would like it.    I designed it to be a2 size but I am sure it would look okay if you re sized it.

Okay, it’s not Christmas yet but It really does feel like Christmas today.  I have a new blog look (just for the holidays) and the Cricut Design Stuidio and the Gypsy updates came out yesterday.  There are so many enhancements that I am saving them for a different post.  I received Very Merry Tags, When It’s Cold Outside and Snow Friends cricut cartridges that I ordered from OhMyCrafts.com.  They were in my mailbox Monday when I checked it before work.  Boy, I would have checked the mail a lot sooner if I had known they were waiting for me!  I just got the shipping notice the same day they came in.  I paid for first class postage and they were sent priority.  They are sooooo cute!

To update Design Studio you have to download the current font pack here.

To update your Gypsy you have to connect it to your computer and sync it.  People on the cricut.com message board state that they are having trouble syncing it and had to uninstall the Gypsy Sync software and then download and install it again.  The Gypsy then syncs fine.  If you also have trouble you may want to try that as well.  I updated my Gypsy and my friends and did not have any trouble.

Sorry for the delay in posting this.  There are some new cricut cartridges that are available for pre order.

The first 3 are special editions.  I have heard them referred to as mini cartridges because they don’t have full content on them.  I have also heard that they will be available only for a limited time.  Once they are sold out, they won’t be available any more.

I have to admit, that the last 3 are not really something that I am interested in.  I found that www.ohmycrafts.com is having a bundle pre order sale.  You can can the Snow Flakes, Snow Friends and Very Merry Tags for $69.97 or Dinosaur Tracks, Old West and Pagoda for $139.00.  They have a 20% off any order coupon (enjoy is the code).  I am not usually a pre order type of person but I might just do the first snow and tag bundle.
