2009 Wordbook SVG
Today I had a little bit of time to work on another word book. Here is a 2009 wordbook to cut on your cricut. I just wanted a simple wordbook that I could embellish and put a few pictures of my kids in to give as a gift.
With the latest update to SCAL 2 I wanted to share how easy it is now to import a single wordbook svg into SCAL 2 and separate the layers and have them ready to cut on your cricut in just a few minutes. I included the complete svg file in the zip file for download but also included the separate layers svg files as well for people still using scal1 software.
HOHOHO Word Book FOR SCAL V2.0
This is my very first wordbook done entirely in SCAL 2.0. I am mainly an inkscape user when it comes to creating files to cut on my cricut. I decided to just try using SCAL 2.0 by itself and see how I like it. I am getting ready to mail my brother and sister-in-law there Christmas gift and I wanted to include something that I made myself. I decided that a HOHOHO wordbook would be perfect. It was very easy to make the wordbook in SCAL 2. The chipboard cut wonderfully on my cricut. I also only used the paper from the 2 My Minds Eye Christmas packs. I love the last page with the Santa’s on it. I wanted each letter to remind me of a wrapping paper from a Christmas gift, but cricut style!
Here is how it turned out. (click on the picture to download the scut file) This file is ONLY compatible with scal version 2 for Windows or Macs. It will not work with version 1 at all. Sorry.
I binded it with my pink Bind It All. It turned out soooo cute. I don’t know if I was a mad women cricut possessed but I managed to create it, cut and put it together in less then 2 hours. I am going to let my sister-in-law decorate it.
School Word Book Made With A Child’s Year Cricut Cartridge
When do you know when you are seriously addicted to your cricut and scrapbooking? When you tell your 2 year old that you are going shopping and she jumps up and down excitedly yelling that we are going to Micheal’s and Joann’s. When I pull into the parking lot of Micheal’s I get a serious….momma.. I hold hand… I want to go to Micheal’s. If someone were to hear her say it, it would sound like she wants to go see her friend Michael and Joann. It is so funny and cute and the same time. I guess I do have to admit I am an addicted. Yesterday we went to Michaels and they had A Child’s Year cricut cartridge in stock. They also had Ashlyn’s Alphabet. It is the first time I have seen them there and they have all cartridges on sale this week $39.99. I was only going to buy one but don’t you know… I ended up with both.
I love the A Child’s Year Cricut Cartridge. It has the cutest little fairy. Here is a picture of one of them.
I thought that font included in this cartridge was really cute as well. So I played around a little bit in Design Studio tonight and came up with a school word book. It made it intending to hide the contour on both of the O’s. DS does not allow me to save the cut file that way so If you don’t want the center of the O’s cut out you will have to hide the contour before you cut the pages. Also the A Child’s Year cartridge does not have a rectangle on it so I have to use the Plantin Schoolbooks cricut cartridge for the rectangle part. If you don’t have the Plantin Schoolbooks cartridge and have another cartridge with a rectangle on it I can update the cut file for you. Just let me know the cartridge that you have. You can send me an e-mail using the “contact me” form on the right.
Kids Word Book For SCAL
We have everything packed and ready to leave in the morning to go to my husband parents summer cottage for a few days. Friday is Riley’s 1st birthday and we are planning a big party for him on Saturday. My sister works in the bakery at Wal-Mart so I asked her to pick out the cake. She picked out a Thomas The Train cake and a little mini messy cake. I can’t believe he is getting so big. I should have lots of pictures when we come back on Sunday. I worked on another word book inspired by a font sent out by Debra’s Font’s Doodles & Dingbats yahoo group. It is called Wild Monkeys. It so reminds me of my daughter and son. We keep telling them no little monkeys jumping on the bed. The more we say it, the more they laugh and giggle and do it more so we will run around the bed catching the monkeys so they don’t hurt themselves.
P.S…. (if you like the font, send me a message, we are totally able to forward them to people per the group rules)
Summer Wordbook SVG
We are getting ready to go away for a few days. I am officially on my last week of vacation for the year starting today! Vacations never are long enough though. My husband got to go fishing yesterday so today I get to spend a little time on my computer and my cricut. This is our last little getaway for the summer so I thought that I would make a summer word book. I love the fancy pants font used in the friends wordbook so I used it for this summer word book as well.

Friends Wordbook for SCAL
I wanted to make a friends word book for my niece. I have been teaching her about scrap-booking and I think that she would have a lot of fun embellishing it. I wanted it to be kind of cute and childish. I used a font from Debras Fonts Doodle and Dingbats yahoo group. I am still looking for a fancy style font to do another friends wordbook geared towards adults. If you have any suggestions please let me know.
This font is called One Trick Pony
